Sex and Relationships
My best friend called me and said a friend asked, “If you want a person to meet you half way and they don’t, what do you do?” She went on to say that the friend is only having sex with his fiancee maybe once a month. In the beginning, they did it all the time and now he hopes to get some. So sex in the relationship is a good topic because it can be a touchy subject. If a woman wants to wait to get married to have sex, it should be discussed early on in the relationship so that the guy can make his informed decision. Women, we can’t say we want to wait and then give into a moment of weakness because you are no longer waiting for married and now the man is confused. You can’t start out being insatiable in bed and then do a complete 360 and not want to have sex at all. Not only are you sending mixed signals but you are confusing the man. He may now feel like you are not sexually attractive to him, there is someone else or that you just don’t want him. If you are in a committed relationship, you should be giving yourself equally with your partner. One person should not be giving more of themselves than the other. Guys sometimes feel if they are making themselves vulnerable for us to see, we should be vulnerable with them. Sex is important in a relationship. If everything else is great and the sex is mediocre, sometimes that can decide if the person wants to stay in the relationship. In a relationship, the needs should be equally satisfied. The needs are mental satisfaction, emotional satisfaction, and physical satisfaction. If all are satisfied, the couple is in good shape. In a relationship, especially a marriage, there should be no inhibitions. You should be able to be comfortable with your partner enough to talk about fantasies, what makes you hot and what doesn’t and be willing to try anything once. You can’t really say you don’t like it if you never tried it. Fear goes out the window once you’ve seen someone naked and completely vulnerable.
